Mandalas
Mandala is a sanskrit word meaning circle.
For me it is a sacred geometry of repeated images arranged in a harmonious way around a center.
In this way it symbolizes a state of being whole, of accepting the relatedness of different aspects of the self.
Creating a mandala can be a healing process. For me, the center of the mandala is the heart chakra. In most of my mandalas, when I paint I start at the center focusing on my heart energy in a sense of radiating it outward, forgetting the meaning of the images involved and letting the colors speak.
Many of the mandalas are divided into 4(or 8) parts. They contain a cross, look fixed, relate to the energy of material stability. Other mandalas are arranged in 5 parts and form a star, a spiral, a state of spin.
